A city of very different housing stock
Chesapeake is geographically the largest city in Hampton Roads, and that shows up in the houses. Greenbrier and parts of Western Branch are largely newer subdivisions built from the 1980s through today, with fairly consistent framing, slab or crawlspace foundations, and HOA guidelines that sometimes dictate fence style or roofing materials. Drive south toward Deep Creek or out into the more rural stretches near the North Carolina line, and you find older farmhouses, well-and-septic properties, and homes that have been added onto more than once over the decades. A remodel plan that works in a ten-year-old Greenbrier house often does not translate directly to a 1970s Deep Creek home, so we walk each property individually rather than assuming.
